Interesting. As a quick and simple test I have the sample code provided by David loaded on an instance of OWS.

When I click Save and Export I can open the saved file (saved to my desktop) and it has no double quotes, BUT the version it saves to the server does have double quotes. So there has to be something different between "File Save" and "File Download" which is causing this??

It could be because the save is getting the value from a SQL query.

Change line 11 to

Source Type: Runtime Variable
Variable Type: Action
Source: CSV_Data

...and you should be good to go.

Thank you lafonj. This was the issue. I also removed any sign of formatting in the Assignment Action and it works perfectly.

If you ever have comma's in your data you may want to put the quotes back in.

This example has helped me imensely. I like how it explains one action and explains it well.

When I download the file and save it as a csv it works just perfect.

But when instead of downloading I open it it says, "The file you are trying to open CSV_Output.csv.xls...", with an xls extension. Maybe this is an Excel problem.

It works perfectly if I save it as a csv and then open it though.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?
